San Pedro is our home, and supporting the people, animals and organizations doing good work here is something we believe in year-round.
Some of that support comes directly from The Truck Stop. Some comes through events and fundraisers. And some happens every time you order something tied to one of our charity partners.
We’re proud to partner with Hope Haven, ACES Wildlife Rescue, Saga Humane Society and the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye — four organizations doing very different work, but all making our community a better place.
Our partnerships look a little different with each one: ongoing donations, menu items that give back, fundraisers, events and other ways to turn what happens at The Truck Stop into support that stays right here in our community.
Protecting Belize’s wildlife is something we care deeply about, which is why ACES Wildlife Rescue is one of our longtime community partners.
ACES works to rescue and rehabilitate Belize’s native wildlife while protecting the habitats they depend on. Their team provides emergency response for injured, sick and orphaned animals and helps educate the community about living alongside Belize’s wildlife.
At The Truck Stop, there are a few ways you can help support their work while you’re here. Order a CrocTail and 100% of the proceeds go directly to ACES. Join us for Trivia and grab a 50/50 raffle ticket — half the pot goes to one lucky winner and the other half goes straight to ACES. We also team up throughout the year for additional fundraising events.
We sponsor Phineas, an American crocodile who lives at the rescue and serves as one of ACES’ wildlife ambassadors, helping visitors learn more about crocodiles, conservation and the wildlife we share this island with.
ACES offers free tours Monday through Saturday, so if you have the chance while you’re in San Pedro, go meet Phineas and see the work they’re doing firsthand.
Hope Haven provides a safe place and critical support for children and families in our community, including its children’s home, community center and Colleen’s Kitchen food bank.
One of the easiest ways you can help is also one of the most popular things on our menu.
10% of every Truck Stop Smash Burger sold goes directly to Hope Haven. It’s our #1 selling item, so every time you order one, you’re helping turn something you already love into ongoing support for an organization that means a lot to our community.
Our support doesn’t stop with the burger. We also make quarterly donations and partner with Hope Haven on fundraising and community events throughout the year.
Saga Humane Society provides veterinary care, shelter, adoption services and support for animals across Ambergris Caye — and they’re one of our longtime community partners.
There are a few ways you can help support Saga right here at The Truck Stop. $2 from every Frosty Paws sold goes directly to Saga, along with $25 from every limited-edition Truck Stop floral hat.
We also launched The Sweet Lou Foundation through Saga, an initiative focused on connecting senior dogs with senior citizens — giving older dogs a home while bringing companionship to people in our community.
Once a year, The Truck Stop goes completely to the dogs.
Our annual Potlicker Dog Show brings together island dogs, real judging, trophies, plenty of personality and adoptable Saga dogs looking for homes.
It’s also our biggest fundraiser of the year for Saga. Our last Potlicker Dog Show raised $10,000 for the organization, with the money going directly toward the work they do for animals in our community.
The Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye works across the island to identify needs and turn them into hands-on community projects — supporting local schools, families, children and residents who need a little extra help.
Their work has included providing school supplies and meals, improving local schools, distributing wheelchairs to residents in need and supporting Hope Haven through several projects, including renovations to its kitchen and playroom.
We’re proud to be part of that work. The Truck Stop partnered with Rotary to help renovate Hope Haven’s playroom, creating a brighter, more functional space for the children with new shelving, seating, books, toys, artwork and more.
Our partnership with Rotary gives us another way to put support exactly where it’s needed in our community — and we look forward to continuing to work together on projects that make a difference here on Ambergris Caye.
Once a month, The Truck Stop fills up with 30+ vendors from across Belize for one of our favorite community events on the island.
The San Pedro Farmers Market gives Belizean makers, growers and small businesses a place to share what they do with the island — from locally grown produce and homemade food to art, handmade goods, local products and plenty of things you didn’t know you needed until you saw them.
It’s free, open to everyone, and there’s live music, free samples and plenty happening around the property while you shop. Come early — our vendors have been known to sell out.
Supporting local goes beyond Market Saturdays, too. Whenever we can, we work with Belizean growers, makers, musicians, vendors and small businesses throughout The Truck Stop.
