Who we work with

Four organisations doing work on this island that we want to keep going. Some of it we fund through what you order, some through events, some by writing a cheque.

Wildlife

ACES Wildlife Rescue

A non-profit permitted by the Belize Forest Department, dedicated to conserving Belize’s native wildlife and the habitats they depend on. They run 24/7 emergency response for injured, ill and orphaned animals.

We donate $2 to ACES for every Croctail sold, and run quarterly fundraising events with them.

We also sponsor Phineas, an American crocodile who lives at the rescue and helps them teach visitors about wildlife and conservation in Belize. ACES runs free tours Monday to Saturday — go and say hello.

The Truck Stop presenting a cheque to Raise Me Up for Hope Haven
Children and food security

Hope Haven

A non-profit children’s home, community centre and food bank — Colleen’s Kitchen — operated by Raise Me Up and a team of volunteers.

10% of every Truck Stop smash burger goes directly to Hope Haven. The burger is our number one selling item across all four kitchens, which makes it the single biggest thing we do for them.

We also make quarterly donations and run events for them through the year.

Animals

Saga Humane Society

San Pedro’s animal humane society and veterinary clinic, on Ambergris Caye.

$2 from every Frosty Paws goes straight to Saga, and $25 from every limited edition Truck Stop floral hat.

We recently launched The Sweet Lou Foundation through Saga, connecting senior dogs with senior citizens.

The Potlicker Dog Show

Our annual dog show, run on the property with Saga. Island dogs, proper judging, trophies, and a ring full of adoptable dogs wearing Adopt Me vests.

It is the single biggest thing we do for Saga all year. The last one handed over a cheque for $10,000.

Rotary Club

We support the Rotary Club’s work on Ambergris Caye through events and donations across the year.

The San Pedro Farmers Market at The Truck Stop
One Saturday a month, November through July

The San Pedro Farmers Market

Thirty-plus vendors from all over Belize, free and open to the public, on our property one Saturday every month. It gives Belizean makers and growers the largest platform on Ambergris Caye to sell what they make.

We also source produce locally through Belize vendors for the kitchens, the ice cream, and the garnishes at the bars.
